Pup (Guards of Folsom) by SJD Peterson

PUP (GUARDS OF FOLSOM) BY SJD PETERSON

*Warning- This book is not for everyone. It is a M/M, BDSM, Erotic romance.*

Micah “Pup” Slayde knows he wants Tackett Austin the moment he lays eyes on him in the Guards of Folsom. Micah wants to have purpose, to be taken care of, and to take care of his Dom—wants to trust him completely, live for him, belong to him. To become his everything. Micah is sure Tackett is the one. The problem is, in order to be the perfect sub, he needs to stay focused, and that’s not easy for Micah, who suffers from what he refers to as a “broken brain.” Focus and adult attention deficit disorder rarely coexist.

Ever since Ty Callahan and Blake Henderson’s collaring ceremony, Tackett’s been thinking too much about his own loneliness. Even though Ty introduces Micah and urges Tackett to give him a try, Tackett isn’t so easily convinced. He’s spent his life pursuing a successful business career, and the subs he dominates almost never enjoy the kiss of his leather twice. Twenty years Micah’s senior, Tackett has no interest in taking on and taming such a young and naughty sub—but it’s difficult to resist such an adorable pup when he begs.

My thoughts-

I enjoyed this book. If you enjoy m/m bdsm romance this is a good find.

The start of the book really had me thinking this might be more graphic and detailed then it turned out to be.

Tackett is feeling his age. His friends have started to couple up and leaving him more alone. He enjoys the club he is a member of but something is missing.

Tackett goes back and forth with his feelings for Micah. It is a good look at his conflict and emotion mess.

But it is really Micah who really makes this story. Yes he can be a brat but he knows what he wants. And is determined to get there.

There is an age gap between the two. Doesn't bother me but some of the time Tackett can seem like an ass. It is part of his charm but I did want to smack him upside the head, lol.

What I really like about this book is that it was well written and showed lots of emotions. And I like the fact that in this book Tackett (the Dom) doesn't just know everything in the world. He has doubt in himself. So many books show the (sub) struggling but never what the (Dom) goes through.

Bravo to the author for showing this other side.

This looks to be part of a series. The first book but while reading I found out that it is actually a spin off series from one of the authors other series.

I can't tell you whether or not to read the other series (Whispering Pines Ranch) first or not as I have not but I can tell you that while I haven't read the other series I still enjoyed the start of this one. I will look out for more as I am interested in seeing what goes on with the remodeling with the club.

I do recommend this book with the warning that it contain D/s scenes.

Thanks Ya'll

Crissy
