Ball and Chain by Abigail Roux

Ball and Chain by Abigail Roux

Home from their unexpected deployment, the former members of Marine Force Recon team Sidewinder rejoin their loved ones and try to pick up the pieces of the lives they were forced to leave behind. Ty Grady comes home to Zane Garrett, only to find that everything around him has changed—even the men he went to war with. He barely has time to adjust before his brother, Deuce, asks Ty to be his best man. But that isn’t all Deuce asks Ty to do, and Ty must call for backup to deal with the business issues of Deuce’s future father-in-law.

Nick O’Flaherty and Kelly Abbott join Ty and Zane at the wedding on an island in Scotland, thinking they’re there to assuage Deuce’s paranoia. But when bodies start dropping and boats start sinking, the four men get more involved with the festivities than they’d ever planned to.

With the clock ticking and the killer just as stuck on the isolated island as they are, Ty and Zane must navigate a veritable minefield of family, friends, and foes to stop the whole island from being destroyed.

My Thoughts

Ball and Chain by Abigail Roux was an addition to the Cut and Run series. Welcome back Ty and Zane.

I did read the other reviews and couldn't beleive them. I mean how can this book not get the same 5 star ratings as the others?

Now that I have completed the book I am can see where the other reviewers are coming from.

Now I give this book 4 stars. The writing in the book as just as great as the other in the series. I have said it before. Abigail Roux, is a wonderful author. She writes the best heart stopping, funny, stories. It is hard to find a MM author that puts so much work into books these days.

Now to the actual storyline. I like the addition of Nick and Kelly. I am looking forward to the Sidewinder series. The parts of the story with Ty and Nick and what they need to overcome where very well written.

Ty and Zane's relationship was the best part of this book. To see them grow and the love between them... perfect. Also the scene with them on the rug in front of the fireplace, HOT!!!

My only issue with this book was the plot. The mystery. In Cut and Run Book 1 my complaint was that the 'bad guy' who done it? mystery was a little too complicated. The same with this book. Too many characters and the mystery was lost (not becasue I figured it out) but because I was just like okay another one and on and on. It was just too much I think.

Great Ty and Zane... Great secondary characters. God I love all the Grady's. But the main plot just fell short to me.

I will be looking forward to some more Ty and Zane.

I recommend this book IF you have already read the series. I think this is the weakest book in the series and my least favorite. But if you start the cut and run series you will have to read this book and I think you will enjoy it.
